The clients existing Soil moisture monitoring solution which sends soil moisture, temperature and related relevant information from a field to web was not adequately providing data and inputs
The client wanted to move from a traditional virtualized/server farm environment to a platform based cloud services.
The client wanted to enhance the existing UX and make the Web Application Responsive for different devices.
Client's Application was a .NET framework based Web application, built in a SaaS model. This product was available to farmers based on the different subscription model they opted for. It was purely an on-premise product (running on web server and database in a local datacenter). The Client envisioned to take this to Cloud to overcome commercial and data security challenges.
e-Zest associated with the Client as a Cloud Partner and helped them build a “Hybrid” solution wherein they could still maintain their data on-premise to adhere to their data policies and also leverage Cloud benefits by moving the Web Application and other modules to Cloud (Microsoft Azure).
e-Zest helped build a new Alert and Monitoring module which now gives real-time alerts by Phone, SMS, Email and has made a significant impact on the overall Crop monitoring process for farmers. This also increased revenue and adoption for the client.
e-Zest also helped to bring in a lot of automation in the development process of new modules and have revamped the existing web application to a responsive site that the farmers now browse from their mobile and handheld devices without installing the complex store app.
We moved the Website to Azure App Services which is now acting as a dashboard to showcase all real-time sensor data from the field. We leveraged Stream Analytics with the help of Azure IoT hub that is helping the client in filtering through to the meaningful data.
Azure Web Jobs and Service Bus is now ensuring the smooth hybrid connectivity with On-Premise data.
Our team built out Mobile friendly widget based dashboard showing real-time data using Knockout.JS.
Moving to cloud helped the Client to reduce the overall expenditure on infrastructure maintenance with additional benefits of quicker and seamless access to the information.
